Working in Sneem is an initiative by Sneem Enterprise Centre and the IDA to help skilled people who may wish to locate to Sneem to connect with potential employers who offer ‘work from home’ jobs.

Do you ever dream of ditching your city life and moving to the country?

It would mean no more long commutes, no more noise and air pollution, time pressures and general hustle and bustle. Imagine a place where you are part of a real community, with neighbourly neighbours, with privacy and security, with freedom to pursue hobbies and sports, buy your vegetables from farmers, walk in the countryside every evening or drive five minutes away to take a morning dip in the ocean before work. The magical and vibrant village of Sneem, and its beautiful surrounding countryside, in the Kingdom of Kerry nestled among the McGillycuddy Reeks mountain range, and the Atlantic Ocean, on the south west coast of Ireland offers you this life.

But what about work and my city life conveniences?

It's not easy to give up your city conveniences, right? You won't be giving up but rather gaining from your move to our rural community. Sneem has all the conveniences you need either in the village or only 20 minutes away, such as primary and secondary schools, high speed broadband, a local crèche, local grocery stores, farmers' markets and larger supermarkets, water sports, a surf beach, a 12 hole golf course and numerous sports clubs, community-run family and cultural festivals and lots of other entertainment options. We also have cafes, restaurants, hotels and lots of amazing and affordable homes ready for long term rental or purchase in the village, or out in our local countryside.

But what about work?

We all need to work so the Sneem Enterprise Centre, in partnership with the Industrial Development Agency (Ireland) - IDA Ireland, is linking skilled people with companies who require those skills and who have embraced the 'work from home' philosophy. Sneem Enterprise Centre, is building up its database of skilled people and these companies are prepared to interview such skilled candidates for 'work from home' employment who want to ditch city life in favour of an adventurous move to Sneem. Once you are successful in securing a job, the Sneem Enterprise Centre staff will support and facilitate your move to Sneem, and also facilitate your new employer with all their work requirements.
